青い池 (Blue Pond)

北海道美瑛町に”青い池”と呼ばれる不思議な場所がある。
立ち枯れたカラマツとあいまって幻想的な風景が美しい。
季節と時間によって色は変化する。
青く見えるのは、アルミニウム等の成分を含む水が流れ込んでいるからだ。
あまり知られていなかったこの池だが、今では有名な観光地となり、旅行ガイドには必ず掲載され、観光バスも立ち寄るようになった。

There is a mysterious place called “Blue Pond” in Biei, Hokkaido.
Together with the withered Japanese larch trees, the fantastic scenery is beautiful.
Colors change with the season and time.
The reason it looks blue is because water containing elements such as aluminum is flowing into it.
This pond was not well known, but now it has become a famous tourist spot, and it is always listed in travel guides, and sightseeing buses also stop by.
