The End of the Pier

This photograph was taken at the old Nishisanbashi Pier on the west coast of Taketomi Island.
I went there to watch the sunset, but the weather turned against me.
The light never came, yet the quiet surface of the sea, the cracked concrete, and the heavy clouds created another kind of beauty — one shaped by absence rather than brilliance.
It became a moment suspended between expectation and stillness.

西桟橋の果て

この写真は、竹富島の西岸にある、今は使われていない西桟橋で撮影したものです。
夕日を見に行きましたが、天候は悪く、光は現れませんでした。
それでも、ひび割れたコンクリートと静かな海面、重く垂れこめた雲が、別の美しさを見せてくれました。
それは、光を待ちながら訪れた「静けさの瞬間」でした。
