Cluster amaryllis(彼岸花)
“Higan” is a total of 7 days, 3 days before and after the vernal and autumnal equinox days.
The original meaning of “Higan” is a bit difficult to explain.
It is an important day in the Japanese faith.
Therefore, Japanese people look at this flower with a special feeling.
お彼岸とは、春分の日と秋分の日を中日とした前後3日、合わせて7日間をいう。
いまでも、日本人の信仰上、大切な日だ。
だから、日本人は秋の彼岸の頃に咲く「彼岸花」を、特別な思いで観る。
